Ten years ago, white people couldn’t be seen walking Durham streets amongst boarded up windows and shattered glass unless they were looking to score drugs. Today, at 38.9% and 39.3%, Durham is about equal parts White and Black, respectively. But there is a clear divide between the white gentrifiers and the historically Black community.
